I do not like to spend a lot of time slicing and dicing
vegetables by hand. I also like my vegetables to look pretty on a plate, but
also easy to eat. The Paderno World Cuisine Tri-Blade Spiral Vegetable Slicer
or better know as a “Spiralizer” is a kitchen appliance that enables you to
dice, slice, and make delectable spirals from apples, zucchinis, potatoes,
cucumbers, and carrots.
The Paderno Slicer cuts, slices, and makes beautiful spiral
“noodles” out of vegetables quick and easy. The spiral vegetable slicer is
white in color and comes with a special blade that creates long spiral strands
that are shaped like spaghetti, a straight blade that makes long strands that
look like ribbons, and another blade that creates thick spiral vegetable
noodles. All of the blades are made from stainless steel and the spiral
vegetable slicer does not require any electricity to operate and does not need
to be plugged into a any power source. I like that the unit is easy to use,
clean, made from strong and durable plastic, is hand operated, and has four suction
feet for stability.
You can slice and “spiralize” sweet potatoes, carrots,
squash, onions, zucchini, potatoes, and apples with the Paderno Slicer quickly
and easily in just minutes. I have made long spaghetti-like strands from sweet
potatoes, squash, and zucchini with this appliance and I will explain how I use
it. After washing my vegetable of choice, usually zucchini, I cut off both ends
of the vegetable, secure the vegetable on the holding mechanism that is located
on one end of the device, place the other end of the vegetable on the opposite
side, I then turn the handle in a steady motion, which pushes the vegetable
through the selected blade, resulting in beautiful, delicious spirals or slices.
It is amazing how the zucchini can be transformed into a bowl full of
spaghetti-like noodles that resemble traditional flour/bread noodles, but are
much more nutritious and healthy.
I used to eat French fries a lot, but now that I have a Paderno
Spiral Vegetable Slicer, I am able to make sweet potato curly fries that are
nutritious, delicious, and are easy to make. It is so much better to eat fresh
vegetables that are prepared with a vegetable slicer/spiralizer than to eat
oily, processed fries that have almost no nutritional benefit at all. The
slicer even creates spiral apple slices that are so delectable.
When I first used the vegetable slicer, I placed one zucchini
onto the device, began to turn the handle clockwise and instantly I had
beautiful vegetable noodles. I already had made a sauce to put on top of the
zucchini noodles, consisting of fresh tomatoes, oregano, garlic, and other
spices. I noticed that if I wanted the noodles to be a tad bit softer, I could
place them in the microwave for a couple of minutes to make the noodles warm
and softer to chew. I now prefer eating “spaghetti” this way rather than with flour/bread
noodles.
The slicer is very versatile and I love that I can take it
with me if I am on trips and need to stay in a hotel, because it does not need
to be plugged into an electrical wall outlet or use any batteries. The
appliance is lightweight, very easy to clean, and the suction cups on the
bottom of the unit grip to a smooth countertop or table securely.
The Paderno World Spiral Vegetable Slicer is inexpensive, portable,
affordable, and produces great results. I love it!
